Former NBA superstar Allen Iverson to arrive in Manila today

Allen Iverson and company are arriving in Manila today in preparation for the PCWorx “All In” Charity Basketball Event that will benefit Gawad Kalinga on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Iverson, the former NBA MVP and 11-time All-Star, and his fellow ex-NBA players Eddy Curry and Demarr Johnson and Ball Up Streetball All-Stars will arrive past 5 a.m. today  on board separate Philippine Airlines flights from San Francisco and Los Angeles.

First on the schedule in the two-day event organized by PCWorx with Samsung and Intel as gold sponsors are television appearances, while tomorrow, Iverson will address a press conference as well as the “meet-and-greet” activity at the NBA Café Manila.

Iverson, along with two-time PBA Grand Slam coach Tim Cone, will then hold a basketball clinic for kids aged 10 to 14 starting at 3 p.m. at the Gawad Kalinga Bulaklakan Chapter in Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City, according to PCWorx Managing Director Michael Chua.

Joining the clinic for the event also backed by Rapoo, Microsoft, AOC, Canon and HP, are Harvey Carey of Talk ‘N Text, former PBA MVP Willie Miller, Sol Mercado and Chris Ross of San Miguel Beer and Jayjay Helterbrand of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The “All In” charity basketball game will be played starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Iverson will be coaching the Ball Up Streetball All-Stars against the Cone-mentored Team PCWorx of brothers Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena of Ateneo, Jeron Teng and Almond Vosotros of De La Salle, Mark Belo of Far Eastern University, Troy Rosario of National University, Javee Mocon and Ola Adeogun of San Beda and Jaymar Perez of San Sebastian.
