A 71-year-old man killed himself after stabbing his wife in the chest Sunday dawn in barangay Tayud, Consolacion town.
Arquiles Abucay was found by relatives hanging inside the comfort room of their house.
Investigation revealed that Abucay came home from a nearby cockpit at past midnight Sunday.
His wife, Crispina, 67, was awakened when Abucay came near the bed and said he will kill her. He then stabbed her in the chest with a 13-inch knife.
She resisted and grabbed the knife from her husband.
She ran to the house of her daughter, Grace, and asked for help.
Abucay’s body was brought to St. Peter Funeral Homes for autopsy while Crispina is confined at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).
