Rama to do another round of ‘investment-begging’, to ask help from PBBM
CEBU CITY, Philippines – Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will be flying to Manila again as he plans to do another round of “investment-begging” there.
During the City Hall’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday, September 12, Rama announced that he is expected to leave for the capital to woo investors to come here.
“Ugma (Tuesday, September 13), manglimos nasad mi. Ikaduha ni nga time nga manglimos mi,” Rama told City Hall workers.
He has tasked his executive secretary, lawyer Collin Rosell, and City Administrator Suzanne Ardosa to oversee the city government’s operations while he’s away.
The mayor said they are planning to not only tap investors but also seek help from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“Ugma buntag, alas 11, sa Malacañang. Gabii, hopefully, with a certain group sa President kay ugma iyahang adlaw natawhan, celebration. Ugma, iampo lang ta nga nindut atong pag-adto sa Manila,” added Rama.
Last month, Rama, together with several City Hall executives, went to Manila to do an “investment-begging,” which formed part of his administration’s goals of replicating Singapore.
Among the pledges they got came from tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan for the completion of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).
