LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has intensified its campaign to digitalize its services.

Jose Arnulfo Veloso, president and general manager of GSIS, said that they were intensifying the campaign to give the “total customer experience” to their members.

In July, GSIS has earlier launched its GSIS Touch App.

Among the services that they offered using the app is to check members’ records, loan details and applications, claim records and applications, pension records, APIR schedules, citizen’s charter, branch locator, and GSIS news.

“Hindi lang go digital, alam nyo ang GSIS I’m very proud to say, as I’ve shared earlier, has already a loan portal. Pwede ka nang mangutang gamit ang mobile phone mo. Pwede mong ma-check ang balanse ng mga transaksyon mo sa GSIS. Pwede mo nang ma-check also yung annual appearance mo para sa mga pensyonado,” Veloso said.

(Not only go digital, You know, I’m very proud to say, as I have shared earlier, that it has already a loan portal. You can now get a loan using your mobile phone. You can now check the GSIS balance of the transaction. You can now check  your annual appearance for the pensioners.)

Velso said the GSIS was also partnering with different banks and money remittance centers so that their members could easily claim their loans, especially in far-flung areas.

The state-run pension system also plans to partner with mobile banking applications, such as GCash and PayMaya for more convenient transactions.

“You can now use it digitally. Imagine nyo po nakakonekta yan sa lahat ng payment portals katulad ng mga pawnshops, sapagkat sa mga liblib na lugar dito sa Pilipinas na gusto mong magpadala ng pera sa kamag-anak, ang mga pawnshops ay ready,” he said.

(You can now use it digitally. Imagine you can connect to all the payment portals like pawnshops because in the remote areas here in the Philippines that you want to send money to a relative the pawnshops are always ready for that.)

“Kung ang purpose mo naman ay mai-remit sa ibang bangko, mai-remit mo sa ibang bangko. Kung ang purpose mo ay pang-shopping aba eh pwede mo na ring magamit pang-shopping at the same time,” he added.

(If your purpose is to remit in another bank, you can remit it in an bank. If your purpose is to use it for shopping, then you can use it for shopping at the same time.)

The GSIS Touch app can be downloaded through Google Play Store and Apple Store.

GSIS members are urged to register so that they can experience a more convenient way of transacting with the agency.
