The Philippine Men’s National Football Team is still the highest ranked football squad in Southeast Asia in the latest rankings released by FIFA, the world governing body for football.
The good news came on the heels of the Azkals historic win against Indonesia in the AFF Suzuki Cup in Vietnam pushing the Pinoys to the semifinal round.
The November FIFA rankings puts the Philippines at the top spot among SEA countries with 231 points and 128th globaly. Vietnam ranks second with 202 points and 138th overall while Myanmar is in third place with 202 points and 140th overall.
Meanwhile, the PHL Azkals will battle Vietnam this Friday in their final group stage match of the AFF Suzuki Cup in My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam although both squads are already in the semifinals.
Thailand is in 4th with 182 points and 144th overall, Malaysia-5th with 137 pts and 155 overall while 6th-10th placers are Indonesia (157th) with 126 pts, Singapore (158th) with 123 pts, Laos (159th) with 120 pts, Cambodia (180th) with 55 pts, Timor-Leste at 185th with 51 pts and Brunei Darrusalam at the 198th with 15 points.
