One man was wounded, five were arrested and more than P300,000 worth of shabu was seized in separate drug busts in the cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu and in Bantayan Island, northern Cebu.

Mark Anthony Rubio and his two companions were arrested in a buy bust operation in  barangay Bantigue, Bantayan Island Monday night.

Rubio was wounded in his left leg after he allegedly tried to grab the gun  of PO1 Isabelo Deo Cavacena who acted as decoy.

Rubio’s relative, Rodney Rubio and Ador Valendez Bordaje were also arrested during the operation.

Two large packs, five medium packs and four small packs believed to contain shabu and P8,200 cash were seized from Rubio.

In Lapu-Lapu City, police collared Allan Daño, 34, and his younger brother, Marvin, 32, in a buybust operation Monday afternoon in barangay Punta Engaño.

Senior Insp. Rogelio Pineda Jr., Chief of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) and City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (CAIDSOTG), said the Daño brothers, who earn a living as fishermen,  handed a small pack suspected to contain shabu to a police decoy in exchange for P200 marked money.

When frisked, police recovered 16 small plastic packs and three big plastic packs believed to contain shabu.

They also seized about two kilos of sodium nitrate and blasting caps believed to be used in dynamite fishing from the suspects’ house.

Pineda said the confiscated illegal drugs weighed 16 grams and has a street value of P188,800.

In another operation Tuesday evening, members of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG-7)  arrested Enrique Aguilar, 44, in a buy bust operation in barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Police seized two medium packs and six small packs  believed to contain shabu,  P500 buy bust money and P300 believed to be proceeds of the illegal drug trade.

Police pegged the street value of the confiscated drugs at P118, 000.

Senior Insp. Joey Bicoy, team leader, said Aguilar is a level 2 drug pusher who can dispose of at least 200 grams of shabu per week.
