A gun ban will be enforced in Cebu starting tomorrow until Jan. 19 as part of security measures for the Sinulog festival.
Senior Supt. Conrad Capa, acting chief of the Cebu City Police Office, said checkpoints will be set up to enforce the gun ban.
The PNP high command in Camp Crame approved the recommendation to impose a gun ban in Cebu, said Senior Supt. Erson Digal.
Digal said violators will be charged criminally while members of the uniformed service will face administrative cases on top of a criminal complaint
An inter-agency meeting was held to finalize security preparations for the Sinulog.
