Lapu-Lapu, Alcoy raids net 6 men
One person was injured while five others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations last Friday in Lapu-Lapu City and Alcoy town in southern Cebu.
Richard Degolacion, 37, of sitio Sangi, barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City was arrested after a shootout with policemen during a buy-bust operation in sitio Sangi.
Degolacion pulled out a gun from his waistband when policemen approached him after a police decoy bought illegal drugs worth P200 from Degolacion. The suspect fired at the approaching policemen but missed. The policemen fired back hitting Degolacion in the right leg. The bullet broke a leg bone.
Degolacion still tried to flee. After a brief chase, Degolacion was cornered.
Three others inside Degolacion’s house were also arrested. They are Elenito Histo, 39, of barangay Pajo; Henry Baguio Jr., 37, also of Barangay Pajo; and Jason Pagara, 20 of barangay Apas, Cebu City.
Police also confiscated 150 small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a .357 revolver with five live ammunition and one spent shell, a roll of tinfoil, P1,600 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug vending and drug paraphernalia.
Degolacion is confined at the hospital under police guard while the three others arrrested during the raid are detained at the Lapu-Lapu City police station pending the filing of charges.
In Alcoy town, southern Cebu, police arrested a suspected drug pusher after a buy-bust operation.
Senior Insp. Jomar Meden, Alcoy Police Station chief, said they had been monitoring the suspect, Ralph Beduya, in his house in the Poblacion for at least a month.
Police moved in to make the arrest after a police decoy bought the illegal drug from Beduya.
Police also confiscated 28 small sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect’s house.
Beduya is detained at the Alcoy police station pending the filing of charges on Monday.
