CEBU CITY, Philippines — Former NBA player and Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) superstar Jimmer Fredette will be seen in action in the Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3×3 World Tour Cebu Masters on September 23 and 24, 2023 at the SM Seaside City Cebu.

The 34-year-old Fredette will compete for Miami of the United States in the upcoming Cebu Masters, according to Manila Chooks Team Manager Jerry Abuyabor, who will also have his own team competing in the tournament.

Fredette shifted his basketball career to the 3×3 last 2022 with the hopes of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He became very popular in the NCAA for his “JimmerMania” fever with the Brigham Young University (BYU) from 2007 to 2011.

He was later on drafted as the 10th overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. He later on played for the New York Knicks in 2016 but found greener pastures in the CBA where he re-ignited his popularity under the Shanghai Sharks.

One of his biggest career highlights in CBA was his 75-point game in the Sharks’ loss to the  Beikong Fly Dragons in 2018.

Currently, Fredette was making a name in the international 3×3 scene after helping his team bag the silver medal in the 2023 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Vienna, Austria behind Huishan NE of Serbia who will also compete in the Cebu Masters.

Fredette along with Canyon Barry, Kareem Madox, and Dylan Travis will test their mettle in Cebu against some of the world’s best 3×3 teams in their quest to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

They will go up against the rest of the top 10 FIBA 3×3 World Cup teams which includes Antwerp and Amsterdam.
