Slippers stolen by robber gave his identity away to Naga police
Suspected robber and his cohort from Talisay arrested, both men tagged in armed heists in Naga
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A pair of slippers helped a victim, a softdrinks salesman, identify one of the armed robbers who stole his P20,000 collections for the day on September 25.
Police Lieutenant Colonel William Homoc, Naga City Police Station chief, said in a report that they arrested Christopher Deiparine at his house in Talisay City this morning, September 26.

Motorcycle plate traced
Homoc said that they traced Deiparine through the motorcycle that he and his cohort used in one of their alleged robberies — a red and black color Honda XRM.
The plate number led police to the first owner of the motorcycle and then to the next one and then to the last owner, Deiparine.
Homoc said that when they went to arrest Deiparine, he was wearing the slippers of the softdrinks salesman that they allegedly robbed on September 25.
Deiparine and his cohort allegedly robbed the softdrinks salesman in Barangay Lutac, Naga City in southern Cebu on Monday and fled with the salesman collections of P20,000 and his slippers, a blue and white striped pair.
Victim confirmed slippers worn by suspect were his
Homoc said that when the victim confronted the Deiparine, he then noticed the pair of slippers that was taken from the victim that the suspect wore then.
Aside from the slippers, police also found the helmet used in one of the robberies tagged to the suspects and the motorcycle that they traced to Deiparine.

Homoc also said that they also arrested Henry Caparida, whom Deiparine named as his cohort in their heists.
Caparida was arrested in his home in Sitio Antipolo, Barangay Linao, Talisay City.
The police chief also said that they recovered the motorcycle used during the robbery of the softdrinks salesman — a neon green Honda Beat.

Linked to two more robberies in Naga City
Homoc said that witnesses had identified the two men as those involved in the series of armed robberies in Naga City.
These were last month’s armed robbery of a Three Sixty Pharmacy branch in Naga City, and the robbery two weeks ago of two lending company employees.
The suspects were detained at the Naga City
