The soft launching of the new LTO-7 Mandaue City District Office took place on October 3, Tuesday, in its new location at the third level of City Times Square 2, Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.

To recall, the Mandaue City District Office and Mandaue City Licensing Center was temporarily closed on January 20, 2023 due to the new ownership of JCentre Mall and the major renovation of the building.

The former location of LTO-7 Mandaue was in JCentre Mall in A.S. Fortuna St., Barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.

According to the LTO-7 in a statement, the district’s office’s first client was a lawyer, during its soft launching on Tuesday.

The lawyer transacted to have his foreign driver’s license converted and its application was done in less than 15 minutes.

The LTO-7 said that contrary to rumors about the unavailability of license ID cards, they were able to print and issue an ID which could be attested by their first client in the district office.

Free of rent

LTO-7 Regional Director Glen Galario led the soft launching where he revealed that the new Mandaue City District Office is at no cost to the government.

This meant that the LTO-7 would not pay any rent on its Mandaue office.

“The said office is free of rent, but of course, we have utilities that we need to cover every month such as electricity, water, and internet. At the same time, we are only paying the common usage service area or CUSA per month,” Galario said.
