CEBU CITY, Philippines—Former “Bowler of the Month” and consistent winner Luke Bolongan ruled the Sugbuanon Bowlers United (SUGBU) Bowling Shootout Tournament on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the SM Seaside City Cebu Bowling Center.
Bolongan, a “Bowler of the Month” for July and a consistent podium finisher in SUGBU’s bowling tournaments, knocked down a total of 802 pins in the four-game series with zero handicap.
He scored 205 and 230 pinfalls in the first two rounds of the shootout to grab a huge lead, paving the way for him to win the title.
With the win, Bolongan earned another slot for the “Bowler of the Month” tournament with the chances of duplicating his previous title he won in July.
Clyde Lim placed second with 779 pinfalls. Lim scored 218 pinfalls in the second game, which was his best performance.
Rounding off the top three in the tournament was 82-year-old senior bowler Romy Mauro.
Mauro showed everyone he still got the what it takes to compete with the younger keglers by finishing with 763 pinfalls.
