Bolongan rules SUGBU Bowling Shootout tilt

CEBU CITY, Philippines — After falling short in the Sugbuanon Bowlers United (SUGBU) “Bowler of the Month” tournament, Luke Bolongan reasserted his dominance on the lanes after winning the title SUGBU Bowling Shootout Tournament on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the SM Seaside City Cebu Bowling Center.

Bolongan, 32, scored a total of 861 pinfalls despite not having any handicap points against 27 other keglers who competed last Sunday.

He had his best game in the first round after knocking down 266 points and went on averaging 215 pinfalls in the four-game series. 

Fellow elite bowler John Galindo settled for second place with 845 pinfalls. Galindo’s best game was also in the opening round with 225 pinfalls. 

Rounding off the top three bowlers in the tournament was Marvin Sevilla who had 832 pinfalls. 

“Bowler of the Month” champion Manny Bueno landed fourth with 791 pinfalls, while Aui Padawan placed fifth with 775 pinfalls.

The sixth to 10th placers in the SUGBU Bowling Shootout Tournament were Tess Regino (766), Tessie Dante (765), Roger Asumbrado (742), Chris Ramil (734), and Heber Alqueza (729), respectively.
