The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) approved a resolution allocating P130,000 in financial assistance to families of flash-flood victims in Ronda town, southern Cebu.

It was approved unanimously three months after typhoon Seniang battered the province at the end of December last year.
The allocation will be charged against the 20 percent development fund for 2015 under the Governor’s Office.

Each beneficiary will receive P10,000.

Eight members of the Bahinting family died in the wake of the floods brought by the typhoon.

Delma, the mother of one of the victims who said they prepared for Ruby but not for Seniang, will receive P10,000.

Perla Faunillan, the grandmother of the three Bahintings, will receive at least P30,000.

Provincial Information Officer Ethel Natera said it took the provincial government more than three months to allocate the amount since authorities still had to verify the beneficiaries.
