Information technology peripherals maker Brother International Philippines Corp. recently launched in Cebu its Refill Tank System multi-function centers.

The best part of this newest product is the fact that it is manufactured in the Philippines, said Brother Philippines president Glenn P. Hocson.
The Refill Tank System series is made in Brother Philippines’ Batangas factory and is not only sold locally but is being exported around the world, he added.

“So lahat ng Filipino, tayo’y maging proud for this is a Philippine product (so, all of us Filipinos should be proud because this is a Philippine product),” Hocson said during the launching of the product on Friday.

There are four models for Brother Philippines Refill Tank System – the DCP-T300, DCP-T500W, DCP-T700W and MFC-T800W.

The series introduces “ultra high page yield and lower cost-per-page for high volume printing,” said product specialist Joel Eugenio.

Refill Tank System also boasts of undisrupted workflow and ease of use, with its increase in paper capacity to 100 sheets from 50 sheets.

Eugenio said the series is aimed at personal users, small office home office (SOHO) and small businesses.

“Basically for our market, our consumers, there are a lot of needs. But, we’re looking at high print volume users – those users that print a lot. If you have customers looking at printing higher than 500,000 pages per month, we can recommend Brother Refill Tank System,” he said.

Refilling the ink tanks has been made easier and less wasteful compared to other brands, Eugenio said.

Unlike other printers on the market that have users refill the ink cartridges at a 90 degree angle, the Refill Tank System requires users to refill at a 45 degree angle, which minimizes spillage. The ink tank is transparent, which allows users to easily check the level of the ink left.

Out of the four models, the DCP-T500W, DCP-T700W and the MFC-T800W can be used for wireless and mobile-printing. Only MFC-T800W can fax documents.

The Wireless Networking feature found in DCP-T500W, DCP-T700W and MFC-T800W helps in “saving resources and sharing the use of the models in the workplace,” said Eugenio. For the mobile printing feature, users can print or scan pictures or documents wirelessly using the Brother iPrint&Scan App and google Cloud Print.

The printers also feature faster print speeds compared to other brands in the market, with ISO print speed up to 11/6ipm, and Fast Mode print speed up to 27/10ppm.

Printers, scanners, multi-function centers and labelers make up around 70 percent  of the total business, said Hocson. It is only natural to be more competitive in producing better models, he added.
