Weather state bureau issued a gale warning affecting the seaboards of Visayas.

Pagasa Visayas Director Oscar Tabada advised that fishing boats and other small seacrafts not to venture into the sea.

Large vessels are also alerted against big waves.

The strong gale force winds is associated with the southwest monsoon and enhanced by the severe tropical storm Egay.

“Strong to gale force winds is expected to affect the Western seaboard, northern and central Luzon and the seaboards of Visayas,” Tabada said in a message.

Egay slightly gained speed and maintained its strength over the last six hours, said Pagasa’s 11 a.m. weather bulletin.

Egay packed maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 120 kph. It was moving northwest at nine kph with its center last seen over Mt. Cagagangan in Cagayan province./ with Inquirer.net reports
