THE GMA-7 Kapuso once again leaned on a balanced attack to defeat the Inquirer-Cebu Daily News Siloys, 93-79, in the deciding Game 3 and secure the 2015 Newsmen Basketball Association of Cebu (NBAC) crown at the Cebu Eastern College gym yesterday.

The perennial champion Kapuso had four players score in double figures headed by the 19 of Marc Hortelano to defeat the Siloys.

Gabriel Bonjoc added 18 points, Julius Vidal chipped in 14 while Renante Quinones had 10 for the Kapuso, who won Game 1, 91-87, but lost Game 2 last Sunday, 85-74, paving the way for the do-or-die match.

Johnny Tabuco led the Siloys anew with 31 points while Jonas Panerio added 15 markers, a far cry from the 31 he scored in Game 2. Edouard Illut chipped in 12 points.

The Siloys were in the thick of things in the first half, holding leads of as many as six before settling for a tied score, 40-40, at the half.

The Kapuso got their game going in the second half behind Hortilano before Vidal hit huge three-point shots in the final frame that sealed the win and the crown.

It was another successful campaign for GMA-7 in the NBAC as it lost just one game all throughout the season.
