A GAS station owner and three teachers were robbed by two men in military camouflage in barangay Cansumoroy, Balamban town, west Cebu.

Police said one of the suspects, identified as Ramil Edulverio, 32, was arrested in his home in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Police allegedly recovered a hand grenade from the suspect’s possession.

Valuables and more than P100,000 cash were taken from Ike Bravo Momo and teachers Marie Almento, Titche Frego and Dobabel Espi.

Police said the three teachers hitched a ride with Momo, who was then heading to his gas station in barangay Gaas around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said while the victims were traveling in a single lane road, two men on a motorcycle drove beside the car.

The backrider then threw something in the middle of the road, forcing Momo to stop his car.

The two men also stopped, pointed guns at the victims and declared a holdup.

Almento lost P23,000 cash while Momo lost P15,000 and check worth P40,000, said PO1 Marlon Pepito of the Balamban Police Station.

In Toledo City, a 44-year-old meat vendor was robbed by two motorcycle-riding men last Tuesday night.

Edwina Cantiga, a resident of barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City, was heading home when two men on a motorcycle blocked her path.

Police said the backrider pointed a gun at the victim and took her sling bag containing P50,000.

Police said the robbers, who wore masks, sped off after the incident.
