Cansojong, Biasong, Tabunok win titles in Mayor JVR hoop
BARANGAY Cansojong, Biasong and Tabunok won titles in the 3rd Mayor JVR’s Cup-Inter Barangay Basketball Tournament held at the Talisay City Sports Complex in Poblacion, Talisay City.
Barangay Tabunok lorded the open division after defeating Barangay San Isidro, 92-73. In the juniors division, Cansojong routed Tanke in the championship game, 77-71. In the seniors division, Barangay Biasong outplayed Barangay Mohon, 86-72, to capture the title.
Celso Colegado Jr. was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the open division for his tournament-long brilliance. He only had 13 markers in the finals but his hard work inside the paint worked wonders for Tabunok. Ronald Bucao led the team’s victory after scoring 22 points.
Jeremias Pantallon scored 17 points for Cansojong and was named MVP in his division.
Seniors division MVP was Christopher Obeso, who scored 29 points in the finals for Biasong. /REPORTER GLENDALE G. ROSAL
