DSWD awards exemplary children

THE regional winners of the Pantawid Pamilya Exemplary Children 2015 were recognized during the launching of Youth Development Session (YDS) last Wednesday.

Grand winner Baby Lou Roda of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental went home with P8,000 cash prize, a medal, and a certificate of recognition. She will automatically represent the region in the national search.

Runners-up Jufel Pradilla of Cebu, Ruth Celine Narciso of Dauis, Bohol and Ranel John Laure of Maria, Siquijor received P6,000, P4,000 and P2,500, respectively.

Another P2,600 was given to all the regional winners as transportation assistance.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development, in partnership with the National Youth Commission and Department of Education launched the YDS last Wednesday at Abellana National School in Cebu City.

YDS is a modular session that aims to motivate the students to attend and finish their education.

The event was attended by NYC chairperson Usec. Gregorio Ramon Tingson together with commissioners Jose Sixto “Dingdong” Dantes III, Jo Jan Paul Peñol and Percival Cendana.
