An early evening fire broke out in an area near the Basak Elementary School in barangay Pagsabungan in Mandaue City.
The alarm was received at 5:50 p.m., and it was put under control at 6:40 p.m., said FO2 Clifford Avila of the Mandaue City Fire Department.
Several houses were destroyed by the fire but arson investigators refused to give a damage estimate since they were still assessing the damage caused by the fire.
No one however was reported injured in the fire.
