DHL employees undergo disaster-preparedness training

Deutsche Post DHL holds the last leg of its Disaster Response Team (DRT) training today, as a measure to better prepare DHL volunteers to handle logistics during natural disasters and improve their disaster emergency response.

The Philippines is a country susceptible to natural disasters, which further raised the need for more training in key disaster response sectors, of which the airport and their frontline workers are a part of. With the training, the DHL volunteers will be able to work cohesively with airport employees during times of natural disasters.

Leading the training is Deutsche Post DHL Group Head of CR Disaster Preparedness and Response, Carl Schelfhaut.

The goal of the training is to equip all volunteers with enough knowledge and skills to be front liners in disaster situations.

The 3-day training was held at the Lufthansa Technik Center in Mactan, Cebu for selected DHL employees.
