Burglars took about P1.8 million from a pharmacy in barangay Poblacion, Argao town, southern Cebu Sunday night.
The cash was the two-week proceeds of Rose Pharmacy, which was supposed to be picked up by an armored van yesterday.
The burglars entered the pharmacy by breaking a concrete wall.
The incident was discovered at around 8 a.m. yesterday when pharmacist Tiffany Pio opened the establishment.
Police recovered a hand drill, a crowbar, a steel saw and a hammer.
Based on the price tag, the tools were newly purchased from a Cebu City mall, said Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, Argao police chief.
Inside the pharmacy, police recovered a wet T-shirt and empty bottles of soft drinks.
Batobalonos said the thieves may have taken advantage of the heavy rains to do their work without being noticed.
The cash was kept in a wooden cabinet.
