Cebuano Soquino, Aya-ay seek redemption in second leg of Peugeot Tennis

CEBU netters Janji Soquino and Amiel Aya-ay will try to do better when they compete in the second leg of the Peugeot Philippine Tennis Open Regional qualifiers today in Bacolod City.

Both Cebuano netters joined the first leg in Cagayan de Oro City but weren’t successful.

Soquino failed to show up on time for his opening round match against Gabriel Lacar for a forfeit loss. Aya-ay, on the other hand, endured a heartbreaking defeat in the quarterfinal round against Joel Palao, 6-4, 1-6, 10-8.

The pressure on both Aya-ay and Soquino to deliver is now on after Cebuano netters Bernardine and Sally Mae Siso dominated their respective divisions in the first leg.

The winners of the tournament will be joining the Siso siblings in the National Finals next year, where a chance to win a trip to Paris, France to watch the 2016 French Open is at stake.
