THE powerhouse University of Cebu taekwondo jins under coach Michael Realista, captured four gold medals including two against archrival University of San Carlos in last Sunday’s championship rounds of the Philippine Taekwondo League-Cebu at SM City Consolacion.

Realista’s Webmasters won golds in Senior Men, Senior Women, Junior Boys and Cadet Boys’ divisions. Two of those gold medals the Webmasters won against the USC Warriors of coach Glenn Lava.

The other remaining UC-USC gold medal pairings are in the Junior Girls and Cadet Girls’ divisions which were moved to Dec. 5 by tournament organizers and will be played in Toledo City.

Despite being undefeated in the Men’s Seniors division round-robin eliminations, USC settled behind UC’s bet to settle for the silver medal. The University of San Jose-Recoletos snared the bronze medal.

In the Senior Women’s division, USJ-R bagged the silver medal while USC salvaged a bronze.

USC, meanwhile, failed to score a win against the inspired Webmasters in the Junior Boys’ division and had to settle for the silver medal. Placido National High School won the bronze.

The RPower Taekwondo Club and the Southwestern University Cobras also won the silver and bronze medal, respectively, in the Cadet Boys’ division.

Lava’s Warriors, however, will still have a chance to win in at least two matches against UC on Dec. 5 in Toledo City.
