The environment office of Mandaue City apprehended seven private garbage haulers for dumping waste without permits in a private lot near the Umapad dumpsite.

Placido Jerusalem,  officer-in-charge of Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), said the trucks belong to Avenue Canning Co.

They learned that illegal settlers in the lot would collect P600 to P1,000 per truck. Jerusalem said they have yet to check if the lot owner knew of the activity.
