Guidelines sought for cash incentives

CEBU City Councilor Alvin Dizon filed a resolution calling on the executive department’s Human Resource Development Office to draft guidelines on the issuance of yearend cash incentives.

Dizon said this year’s P30,000 across-the-board cash incentive regardless of performance is “too much” and is highly insensitive, unjust and unfair to the city’s taxpayers.

“Many Cebuanos deserve this incentive, and the money used to fund this came from them, the taxpayers,” Dizon said. He said the guidelines in giving out the cash incentives should be based on performance.

Dizon is also requesting the HRDO to anchor their guidelines on the employee’s performance rating using a standardized performance evaluation tool.

The draft policy guideline and procedures and the performance rating tool will be presented to the council in an executive session during the first quarter next year.
