THE 2008 Flyboys shot up to the top of the standings in Division 3 as they handed the defending champions 2011 Elevens a 60-55 loss in the 2015 University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Sinulog Homecoming Cup that was held over the weekend at the USC North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.

Former Warriors Nilton Otida and Nico Magat joined forces with wide-bodied bruiser Don Adlawan to take down the Elevens and send them to just their second defeat in six games in this conference. Batch 2008, on the other hand, pushed their win-loss record to 5-1 as Otida tallied 15 while Magat, one of the pillars of this year’s Cesafi-title winning squad, added 13. Adlawan had his way down low and scored 12.

Anthony Romaguerra pumped in 13 while Lorenzo Bacaltos chipped in 10 for the losing team.

In the other game in Division 3, the youngsters of the 2014 Underdogs dumped the 2006 Fury, 73-66, to improve to 3-4 and send their victims down to 4-3. Jonbert Llenes led the way with 18 even as Vernon Senoren and Noriko Benedicto contributed 15 apiece.

Meanwhile in Division 1, the pacesetting 1985 Legends and the 1993 Dragons remained unbeaten as they logged in convincing victories over separate opponents. The Dragons leaned on the 35-point explosion of Roy Jumao-as to register a 79-66 win over the 1988 Barakos. Left-handed, sweet-shooting big man Bong Eleazar added 16 in the one-sided affair.

Former pro Lou Regidor waxed hot and tallied 46 markers to buoy the Legends past the 1992 Little Rascals, 88-66. Bing Pua, Regidor’s trusted running mate, added 22. Both the Legends and the Dragons hold similar 7-0 cards.
