Traffic, security plan for ‘Eat Bulaga’ show
The interior road of barangay Lorega, Cebu City will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow for the afternoon TV show “Eat Bulaga” there.
The public was advised to take alternate routes in anticipation of heavy traffic there.
The Cebu City Transportation Office granted the request of barangay Lorega to temporarily close the interior road where GMA-7’s Eat Bulaga will hold its “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment.
The “Juan for All” program has become wildly popular due to the “AlDub” tandem of “YayaDub”, online star Maine Mendoza, and actor Alden Richards.
CCTO chief Rey Gealon said he sees no problem with closing the interior road from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. since the closed portion was just a secondary road.
“The road that will be closed is Lorega Street starting from Imus to Echavez,” Gealon said.
CCTO operations chief Joy Tumulak said the CCTO will add 10 traffic personnel to man the area. But he advised motorists to take detour routes because of expected traffic buildup.
“Traffic routes will not be changed and the 10 traffic personnel are enough to help maintain traffic flow in the area,” he said.
Lorega barangay chairman Fritzgerald Herrera said they will coordinate with the CCTO to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Chief Insp. David Señor, head of the Police Community Relations (PCR) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said they received a request from SM City Cebu management on the visit of the Eat Bulaga cast tomorrow.
“We have received the request and we already made a security plan set for the approval of the city police director.
But we are not aware of the cast’s visit to barangay Lorega,” Señor said.
About 20 police personnel will be deployed as security during the Eat Bulaga cast’s mall tour of SM City Seaside Cebu.
“We do not know yet about their other event in barangay Lorega. I hope they would communicate with us, since we act on a security plan which we draft when someone request for security, since if anything happens, we will be held responsible,” he said.
