Boy electrocuted under Christmas tree in Ronda park

A 9-YEAR-OLD boy was electrocuted while playing under a Christmas tree in the public park of Ronda town, southern Cebu.

Kevin Gemina, a resident, was playing with other children  in the town’s plaza  around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the boy may have accidentally touched the electric wire of Christmas lights hanging around the 10-foot Christmas tree.

Park goers rescued the boy and brought him to the town health center.

He had visible burn marks in one hand.

The boy  was declared dead by Dr. Nicholas Nicdao.
