Boy, 6, dead in mishap

Two died, including a 6-year-old boy, in separate road accidents in Balamban and Argao towns.

Mateo Gelbolingo, 6, died on the spot after he was crushed by a prime mover loaded with bags of cement shortly before noon last Sunday in barangay Tulic, Argao while his father, Vincent, 36, is in serous condition.

The father and son, along with Robert Tambal, were passengers of a motorcycle-for-hire driven by Isidro Cabajar.

Tambal and Cabajar were also injured.

PO2 Howard Maynopas of Argao police station said the victims were heading south tailing a prime mover truck driven by Tito Soldero.

Upon reaching barangay Tulic, Cabajar tried to overtake but he was hit by an SUV on the other lane driven by Adolfo Mendoza of barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

All the victims were thrown off the motorcycle and the boy landed under the prime mover.

In Balamban, Lee Michael Cuizon, 36, of Mandaue City died while his backrider William Polido was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a dump truck driven by Andy Vasquez in barangay Aliwanay. Cuizon sustained severe head injuries.

Vasquez is temporary detained at Balamban police station.
