ACTION is set to ramp up in the Cebu Youth Basketball League as the playoffs commence today at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.
In the under-10 division, Monterey and the University of San Carlos (USC) North gained outright spots to the semifinals after bagging the top two win-loss records after the elimination round. Set to compete in the quarterfinals are USC South, Don Bosco Technology Center, the University of the Visayas (UV) and Cebu Eastern College (CEC).
In the knockout semifinals of the under-12 division 1, the top-seeded Ateneo de Cebu will be taking on Don Bosco while USC-North battles UV. In division 2, Monterey tackles Ormoc while SACS tangles with Don Bosco B.
In the under-15 division 1, USC-North faces off against UV-A while CEC duels with the University of Southern Philippines Foundation. The division 2 quarterfinals will see Ateneo de Cebu 2, Don Bosco-B, USC South, Ateneo de Cebu 3, SACS, USC North 2, UV-Mandaue and Springdale 1 duke it out for spots in the Final Four.
The under-18 division 2 semis will have Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology battling UV-Mandaue and Springdale tackling the Ateneo de Cebu’s Passerelle squad.
