Better CCMC Philhealth sharing policy
The management of the Cebu City Medical Center explained that their PhilHealth sharing policy is actually better compared to their previous practices.
CCMC hospital administrator Rey Cris Panugaling explained that the new scheme paved the way for clear-cut guidelines on the distribution of PhilHealth shares which, he said, have been increasing in recent months.
The new sharing scheme, which was implemented starting last month, even includes janitors and security guards.
He said they benchmarked the sharing scheme with that of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) and that it’s also similar to that of St. Vincent Hospital.
In previous years, he said there were no clear guidelines as to how much each employee will get. That’s why they really pushed to have proper guidelines on paper.
He also explained that they can’t give the same amount as benefits to all employees.
“It can’t be done that each will get the same amount. There is a ranking. For example, rank and file employees work only from eight to five. But managers are on call 24/7. It also has to differ based on the level of accountability,” Panugaling said.
Some CCMC employees earlier wrote to the City Council complaining on alleged unfair distribution of the health benefits and subsistence allowances. They didn’t indicate their names.
The council has called for an executive session on February 10 to discuss the allegations.
