JEFF Codera, the Cebuano basketball trainer  who is fast making waves in the United States, where he is currently a staff member  of the reigning NBA champions Golden State Warriors’ youth training camp, will be staging a free basketball clinic for players aged 10 to 15 today at the Wireless Sports and Cultural Plaza in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

The 33-year-old Codera arrived in Cebu a few days ago and expressed his excitement to meet the children and share his knowledge and passion for the game of basketball with them.

“I’m excited to share my knowledge and the feeling of having that opportunity is just priceless. To be able to share it with the kids, especially those who don’t have the means or access to competent basketball training, is just an honor,” Codera told Cebu Daily News.

Codera has indeed come a long way from growing up in Tabok, Mandaue City to getting issued a license for Youth Development of USA Basketball, the sport’s governing body in that country. He also owns the Codera Powerplay.ph Basketball Clinic, a prominent basketball camp in Watsonville in the Santa Cruz County where he resides.

Codera is also set to conduct clinics in Madridejos and Tabuelan and other places around the city.
