THE COUNTRY’S marathon queen Mary Joy Tabal of the MotorAce Racing Team scored another big win after topping the Condura Skyway Marathon yesterday in Metro Manila.
Tabal, who is in the middle of her training for the prestigious Boston Marathon slated April 18, showcased her winning form to rule the 21-kilometer half marathon race in one hour, 22 minutes and four seconds.
She beat Philippine national team member Mary Grace delos Santos, who finished second with a time of 1:25.55, and Nhea Ann Barcena, who placed third by clocking 1:35.20.
Tabal told Cebu Daily News she was not actually feeling well yesterday but was thankful she still made it to the top of the podium.
In the men’s 21k race, Kenyan Jonathan Cheruiyot emerged winner after clocking 1:09.38.
Rafael Poliquit Jr. finished second (1:11.11) while Richard Salano (1:11.23) settled for third.
