The girlfriend of the Dutch tourist who was found dead last Saturday inside his rented room at the Turtle’s Nest along Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City is not yet off the hook.

SPO2 Wetzel Berry, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office, said the girlfriend –  whose real name Berry refused to divulge upon the request of the girl will be invited for questioning to shed light into the death of Dieter Friedrich Meyer.

The Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) operative will release the result of the examination of the finger prints and blood recovered from the crime scene this week.
Berry said two or more assailants might have killed Meyer.

Police found bruises on Meyer’s head and his right eye believed to have been hit by a blunt object.

Meyer’s girlfriend, who lives in Talisay City, earlier narrated to the police that she went to the restaurant last Friday night but did not see Meyer. She claimed that she only met a staff of the restaurant and instructed her to return the cellphone that she borrowed from Meyer. She then left.

“We are still weighing her statements. For now, we will be inviting some occupants (of the pension house) for further questioning,” Berry said in Cebuano.

“Di pa jud ta mohunong ug imbestigar (We will not stop investigating),” said Berry.

Meyer used to occupy a room in an apartelle across the restaurant but was kicked out after failing to pay the rent. Police said the girlfriend claimed that Meyer remained glued inside his room the past several days due to financial problem.

His body now lies at Rolling Hills Memorial Chapel.
