AFTER opening the Manila to London route in 2013, flag carrier Philippine Airlines is looking to open another flight destination for the airline in Europe.
This developed even as PAL is also focusing in opening more direct domestic and international routes in Cebu.
Cielo Villaluna, PAL spokesperson and head of external communication, said PAL is studying tourist cities like Paris and Rome for the Manila to Europe destinations.
“PAL is looking at developing the Cebu route as a primary hub outside Manila,” she said. “There is a market demand to travel between Cebu and other places,” said Villaluna.
In the recent years, the airline launched as many as four international flight routes direct from Cebu, namely Nagoya, Osaka and Narita in Japan, and Incheon in South Korea.
Starting March 15 this year, PAL will also launch its Cebu to Los Angeles thrice-weekly flight. The launching of the new route coincides with the carrier’s 75th founding anniversary.
Within the Philippines, PAL has also reopened its flights from Cebu to Bacolod, in addition to its existing routes to Butuan, Cagayan, Davao, Iloilo and Tacloban.
Villaluna said the studies will be completed by 2017.
