THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras unleashed their venom late to escape past the gritty Velez College, 25-22, in the 3rd season of the Cebu Flag Football League (CFFL) Inter-Collegiate Tournament yesterday at the UC-METC field.
Earlier, Velez pulled off a 17-6 victory over the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats.
The defending champion Cobras improved to 4-0 (win-loss), while Velez dropped to 3-1.
In the first game, the University of San Carlos Warriors pounded the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars, 16-6, to stay unbeaten after three games, while the Cebu Doctors’ University trounced Bogo City’s Felipe Verallo College Foundation, 26-8.
