AROUND a hundred triathlon kids will take part in today’s culmination of the three-day National Grassroot Program (NaGP) at the Plantation Bay Resort, Mactan Island.

Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, one of the organizers of the three-day triathlon clinic initiated by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP), said that 40 juniors triathletes will represent Danao City, 25 from Talisay City and around 30 kids from Cebu City in the suprer tri kids race.

The race is scheduled at 1 p.m.

The NaGP is the only national based junior and grassroots program for 7-15 year olds that encourages kids to get involved in triathlon.

The clinic was handled by none other than International Triathlon Union (ITU) Level 2 certified coach Melvin Fausto of TRAP with the help of multi-titled swimming coach Rolando Remolino of Talisay City.

Cagayan de Oro, Ilo-ilo City and Subic Bay will also get a chance to host the three-day triathlon clinic in the coming months.
