A Church-based group presented yesterday a list of national candidates they will support in the May elections whom they described as “pro-life, anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion and anti-divorce.”

“The biggest issue is whether or not you are standing up for defending life, the family, the husband and wife – meaning, are you anti-gay marriage? Are you for the protection of the family by being an anti-divorce and anti-abortion supporter?” said Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer of the Citizens for Life.

Based on their criteria, Dr. Bullecer said they support Vice President Jejomar Binay and his running-mate Sen. Gringo Honasan who are firmly opposed  to the Reproductive Health law.

Dr. Bullecer said they oppose Sen. Miriam Santiago, an RH law adherent and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte due to his platforms which they believe  subvert the Catholic Church’s stand on the issues.

Bullecer said Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Mar Roxas is playing it safe while Sen. Grace Poe’s support for the LGBT is not pro-life.

Bullecer said they are supporting the Senate candidacies of Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Tito Sotto, Martin Romualdez of Lakas CMD and independents Dick Gordon, Dante Liban and Juan Miguel Zubiri.
