22 Maternity Hospital employees barred from working

By: Michelle Joy L. Padayhag March 16,2016 - 09:04 AM

ABOUT 20 members of the Cebu Maternity Hospital employees were barred from entering the Cebu Puericulture Maternity House at 7 am Wednesday.

Fundador Alforque, vice president of the union, said they received a notice yesterday from the hospital management stating that they are implementing a “no work, no pay” policy starting Wednesday.

The labor dispute began when the management offered a P1 wage hike that’s lower than what the labor union petitioned for.

Operations have stopped since last month.

The 22 employees are staying at the hospital sidewalk while employees who are not with the union such as those from the accounting office are still allowed to get inside.

Alforque said they are consulting their lawyer on any legal action.
