A Korean national was arrested for possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia at the Mactan Cebu International Airport area at past 4 am Wednesday.

Airport police officer Andres Barsagas said 30-year-old South Korean Lee Kyungho was stopped at the airport access road where he was pushing a red trolley as he headed to the airport compound.

Security guard Jamelo Baring asked the South Korean if he needed assistance and Lee asked to see the police.

Once at the police office, Lee opened his trolley and yielded three small packs of shabu, fives used syringes and four syringes still placed inside seal plastic packs.

Barsagas said Lee appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time.

Barsagas said they turned Lee over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for detention and the filing of charges.
