Two policemen who responded to a vehicular accident in Barangay Saavedra, Moalboal in southwest Cebu on Thursday afternoon also figured in an accident.
Police Officer 1 Niño Redasa, 26, sustained severe injuries after he was thrown from the motorcycle he was driving in Barangay Tubli following a collision with a multicab driven by Victor Sabac, 52.
Redasa was brought to a Cebu City hospital. His back rider, PO1 Dennis Lamosao, 33, sustained cuts and bruises.
PO3 Jennylind Awe of Moaboal Police said Sabac surrendered to the police, but was released from detention after an amicable settlement was reached.
Redasa and Lamosao used a motorcycle because the patrol car was in Cebu City for the filing of a case while the other service vehicle was down.
