A MUNICIPAL councilor’s house was strafed by unidentified gunmen in barangay Libjo, Tabogon town in northern Cebu last Wednesday midnight.

SPO3 Epifanio Comedido of the Tabogon police said Nathaniel Cortes, his wife and 19-year-old son were sleeping when the shooting occured. No one was hurt.

Cortes said they saw two men speeding away from the area on board a motorcycle.

Cortes said he suspects the shooting was politically motivated since he is an active supporter of incumbent Tabogon Mayor Zigfred Duterte who is seeking reelection.

Last Friday dawn, the house of Moses Wenceslao, a supporter of incumbent San Francisco Mayor Al Arquillano was strafed after he met with the mayor.

The home of another Arquillano supporter, Himesulan barangay chairman Rey Maranga was also strafed with bullets the following day.
