NINE precinct commanders of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) were reshuffled two weeks before the national elections on May 9.

Senior Supt. Benjamin Santos Jr., Cebu City police chief, said the revamp was intended to remove impressions of partiality or bias for any politician or political group in the CCPO.

“This is to remove familiarity with the people as we will be guarding the ballots and the vote-counting machines (VCM) as well as the polling areas,” Santos told Cebu Daily News.

Those who were reshuffled were Chief Insp. Michaelangelo Beltran who moved from Station 9 in Guadalupe Police to Station 2 in Osmeña Boulevard.

He replaced Senior Insp. Randy Caballes, who is now assigned at Station 7 in Pardo.

Senior Insp. Homobuno Sayon, former chief of Pardo police, was moved to Station 11 in Mambaling, replacing Senior Insp. Maramag, who is now reporting as chief of Station 5 in Carbon.

Meanwhile, Chief Insp. Wildemar Tiu now heads the Station 4 in Mabolo after he was transferred from the City Intelligence Branch (CIB).

He replaced Chief Insp. Allan Rosario, who was moved to Station 3 in Plaza Independencia.

Rosario replaced Chief Insp. Jose Gesto, who was transferred to Station 9 in Barangay Guadalupe.

Santos said the movement among his men has been pending since he assumed post as city director, with guidance from Camp Crame.
