MOTORISTS are advised to avoid routes near the areas where Team Rama candidates will hold their miting de avance in the Cebu City south district today and in the Cebu City north district tomorrow.

Joey Daluz, Team Rama campaign manager, said the miting de avance will start at 6 p.m.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, Team Rama leader, said the team will visit four areas in each district.

In the south are Rene Espina’s compound in Barangay Guadalupe, under the flyover in Barangay Mambaling, the tennis court beside the barangay hall of Barangay Poblacion Pardo, and Tupas St., fronting the children’s park in Barangay San Nicolas Proper. In the north, the group will be in Barangay San Jose in Barangay Talamban, Sitio Avocado in Barangay Lahug, Doña Pepang Cemetery in Barangay Carreta, and in a vacant lot beside the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City.

Daluz said there will also be two caravans for the south district and the north district rallies.

Jonathan “Joy” Tumulak, operations chief of the Cebu City Traffic Office,  advised motorists to plan their trips today from 2 p.m. especially since they will be closing some streets in the city like in Barangay Mambaling where the intersection below the flyover will be closed from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and traffic will be diverted to the flyover.

Meanwhile, Mayor Rama reacted to photos of an employee of the Bids and Awards Committee  at City Hall with a stack of green cards on her table.

“I have not allowed that and that should be stopped. The green card is supposed to be done already in the barangays, not in the office,” Rama said.
