TALISAY City Mayor-elect Eduardo Gullas said he would implement a major overhaul of the city government when he would take over on June 30.

Gullas said in a press briefing yesterday that he met all the current department heads and asked them to resign or avail of retirement so that he can replace all of them.

He said this is in response to the Talisaynon’s question of what’s wrong with the city government.

Aside from this, he said he also plans to refurbish and repair city hall, which he intends to do when he assumes office.

“Mura na siya og cake. Nindot kaayo sa atubangan pero ang sulod gikaon na (The city hall now is like a cake. The surface is good but when you look at it inside, there is nothing there),” he told reporters in a press conference yesterday afternoon at his office inside the University of the Visayas (UV) Main Campus on Colon Street .

Gullas also said that he also plans to ask the Commission on Audit (COA) to do an inventory of all the vehicles in all Talisay City government offices.

He said he would also create a panel to go over the individual offices to see if the job order employees’ services would still be needed.

Yesterday, Gullas introduced lawyer Aven Piramide as his new city administrator. Piramide was Gullas’s chief campaign manager during the elections.

Aside from that, Gullas said he had a list of suspected drug lords in the city and he would meet with them, and tell them to leave the city.
