A WOMAN from Jimalalud, Negros Oriental is facing an illegal recruitment case after a man filed a complaint at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office for allegedly recruiting him, collecting money from him, and failing to deploy him to Canada.

Prosecutor Rodulph Joseph Carillo found evidence to charge Jennylyn Paz, who is temporarily residing in Minglanilla, Cebu, with illegal recruitment before the Regional Trial Court. Bail for Paz was set at P24,000.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by Don Karlo Leonardo, who accused Paz of failing to deploy him as a production worker to Canada after promising him of a job there and collecting a P20,000 processing fee from him.

Leonardo sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation when Paz failed to keep her promise to deploy him in June 2014. She was arrested in September 2014.

CDN called Paz through her mobile phone, but she could not be reached for comment.
