THE 2ND Dipolog City Invitational Dragonboat Race, scheduled for last Sunday, was unfortunately called off due to bad weather.

The tournament, which was participated by Cebuano teams Lexmark Security Dragons and Gruppo/Paramount Habagat, was cancelled by local Coast Guard authorities of Dipolog City due to the big waves brought about by tropical depression “Ambo.”

The teams were able to finish one heat, but Lexmark and Habagat were not able to land a place.

Lexmark Security Dragons’ Team Secretary Jessica Villacencio, who is part of the team, said that the waves were causing problems for them.

“In the first heat, we were positioned in a lane that really had big waves,” Villacencio said.

A team from Liceo de Cagayan won that race. When the second heat was about to start, tournament officials decided to cancel the event.
