Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Orvi G. Ortega said he will be coming up with standard guidelines that the province could use in dealing with informal settlers in the province-owned lots.

He said he will draft the guidelines and submit it to Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III for consideration.

“If he (Davide) will adapt the guidelines, it can be used as a framework in how to deal with all the province-owned lots that are currently occupied by informal settlers just like in the case of 93-1,” he said.

Ortega said that they are waiting for another meeting between Gov. Davide and Cebu City mayor Tomas Osmeña regarding 93-1.

“How the 93-1 issue will be resolved, which the governor and mayor Osmeña has committed to resolve, can be a model we could use in coming up with the guidelines,” he said.
